Not the standard grid pattern one would expect. I also noticed the quality put into the handguard. But then I picked it up, and wow, it is light. I'm looking for one for the same upper but unfortunately I'm also in need of a DPMS high profile handguard that's 10.5" - 11" MAX! Yes, the VTAC Troy handguard is almost identical, but it uses the milspec barrel nut, which is simpler to install, but it isn't nearly as beefy as the ALG barrel nut. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder.
